Vedanta realizes that education holds the potential for unleashing the biggest change in the area; therefore a comprehensive programme package has been launched in the operational villages to educate and develop the inherent potential of community at large. Vedanta believes that accessible education will empower the underprivileged sections of the society in addressing generational poverty. By extending the base of primary, secondary, higher education, through expert NGOs in the education field with a holistic approach is the essence of the education Project initiated by Vedanta.

Vedanta has partnered with leading NGOs, Government Departments and local schools to expand educational services to children in adjoining villages. It has undertaken schemes to provide additional coaching support to students besides augmenting the infrastructure of the schools.

Towards ensuring quality education to the vernacular school students by providing standardized remedial coaching centre and self-actualization through life-skill education, Vedanta is implementing project 'Vedanta Vidyarthi Vikash Yojana'. High School Students of Vernacular medium are enrolled for intensive educational guidance in 6 coaching centers in peripheral villages. Till date more than 700 students enabled to pass in the Matriculation exam.

Vedanta's e-literacy program presently running by Vedanta Foundation is a successful initiative across the country connecting thousands of rural youth to the age of computer and creating equitable opportunities for them. Currently two computer literacy centre is operational in peripheral villages covering around 400 students yearly. Vedanta has also up graded the schools for running the Computer Centres besides providing all hardware and software support, trainer and course materials.

The programme aims at providing quality education to the children of Project Displaced and Affected Families. This has been taken in partnership with DAV, one of the best academic institutions in the country. Vedanta is bearing all expenses of 181 meritorious students children in getting quality education from such premier institution. The scheme also includes their Transport facility, Uniform, books and other stationeries.

Assisting Odisha's meritorious students from economically weaker section in pursuing graduate courses, Vedanta has recently launched Young Achievers Scholarship Programme. The programme is selecting total of 100 students for scholarships. 50% of the scholarship is reserved for girl students and 22.5% of the scholarship is reserved for students belonging to SC/ST. The programme will provide assistance to students of B.Tech/B.E., Medical (MBBS/BDS/BPT/B.Pharma) and B.Sc. (in any subject).

To ensure good education supported by quality ambience, Vedanta has undertaken renovation of schools. DAV school buildings have been refurbished and a new floor has been constructed. Renovation of school infrastructure like boundary wall, classrooms have been carried out as per the need of the community.

Vedanta has also supported the development of Anganwadi in partnership with the Government of Orissa. Six such pre-schooling centres were renovated.

Vedanta initiatives are directed at increasing the interest level of children and reducing the drop-out rate. In association with Vedanta Foundation, most Computer Centres are in offing for youth and children.
