Rayagada Police during the year 2010 launched a unique project named “Nua Mana Nua Sapana” (new thoughts, new dreams) in the district. The project aims at developing better connect between police and the general public thus facilitating police to counter effectively security threat in Maoist affected areas of the district with support and cooperation of the local people. This is an annual event wherein tribal students from schools of different Maoist-affected areas of the district from different schools participate. It continues for 2-3 days and comprise of lots of fun packed competitive programs. This event has been instrumental in providing platform for the tribal students to come forward and be a part of the mainstream system. Vedanta Limited Limited, Lanjigarh has been supporting this project since last year 2013.

This year the grand event “Nua Mana Nua Sapana” was celebrated from 6th Feb – 8th Feb 2014. It was organized in GCD Ground,

Rayagada where 375 tribal students from far off remote areas along with their school teachers participated in the event. Of the total participants, more than 200 students were tribal girls.

On 8th February, closing ceremony took place where students won the heart of guests with their magnificent performances. Winners of all the events were awarded with shield, prizes as well as certificate of merit. In their closing remarks, Mr. Sashi Bhusan Parhi, District Collector, Raigadha and Mr. Rajesh Pandit, SP Raigadha commended publicly the cooperation and support extended by Vedanta Limited, Lanjigarh to make the event successful.
